Project

Replacement of garden wall

Project Details

After realising the wooden sleepers holding one of his borders in place were rotting away, we worked closely with the customer to build a retaining brick-topped stone wall to match other walls around their garden.

Solution

Before starting we assessed and surveyed the area surrounding the sleepers, and identified the Limestone to match the pre-existing walls and confirmed with the customer our approach.

On approval of the quote, we obtained the necessary materials, dug out the sleepers and prepared the area ready for construction. After levelling the area, a solid foundation of gravel was applied to prevent erosion and the wall constructed. Key to this project was to build the wall ensuring the stones were the correct mix of colours, shapes and sizes to match the surrounding walls. After applying a top later of hand-cut stones the wall was complete ready for the brick capping.

Once the wall was complete the team returned once the mortar was dry to remove any excess mortar, wash the stones and backfill the garden.

What the client said

“We are very pleased with the job. Thank you.” Mr N, East Budleigh
